Another 76 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases were reported today on the Big Island.

The state Department of Health reported 436 new cases statewide as a surge driven by the highly contagious Delta variant continues.

According to data from the DOH, the state has averaged 506 new cases per day Aug. 2-8.

The statewide test positivity rate is 7.3%, while Hawaii County’s positivity rate is 7.8%.
